Porting Lemmings Across 4 platforms in 36 hours

By Tim Quax on 01 july 2010

The developer Aaron Ardiri challenged himself to port his classic Palm OS version of Lemmings to four platforms; Mac, Windows, the Palm Pre and iPhone as fast as possible.

The porting was done using his own dev environment, which creates native C versions of the game. He liveblogged the whole thing, and finished in a mere 36 hours of much developing and less food and sleep. After the 36 hours he ended up with an iPhone and Palm Pre version awaiting submission in their respective app stores, and uploaded the free versions for Windows and Mac on his site.

After this awesome almighty victory, it didn't take very long for Sony to come in and piss over his parade. They sent Ardiri a letter which effectively stated "take everything down within 48hrs or we'll sue", the official letter can be read here. It's bloody ridiculous they're bitching about it, since they don't even have the game out on these particular platforms, not in the last 10 years anyway.

Sony: you can have my boot up your ass.
