Byte Mods launches Android app!

By Tim Quax on 26 july 2011

With the Android app you can check your favorite howto's, mods and columns from the comfort of, well, everywhere. The app also shows our new design, which will show up at the new website as well.

We finally caught up and joined the Android frenzy. Although we've been preceded by a mere 300.000 apps, which have been downloaded a modest 5,4 billion times, maybe we can't call ourselves early adopters.

Android app

It's not very common to choose Android over iOS when building your first app. Apple's marketing makes sure of that since Android is the bigger player here. The Android Market is expected to exceed the number of apps in the App Store by august. The apps are growing quite fast, as we reported the 100.00 milestone last year.  The Android Army is 100-million devices strong, growing at a mindblowing rate of 400.000 activations per day.

Oh, and it's not dictated by 5 million rules based on whatever Apple feels like doing.

Byte Mods

The Byte Mods app contains howto's, mods and columns. You can do anything from reading MYSQL optimizations while sitting on the couch to reading Linux tutorials in the datacenter. We will, of course, continue development on the app and add features as we go.

You can download it at the Android Market!
